Neurodiversity, ADHD & Autism Therapy
Different doesn't mean deficient.
Navigating a neurotypical world with a brain that works differently can be exhausting.
If you have ADHD, autism or another form of neurodivergence, you may have spent years being told—directly or indirectly—that you are too much, not enough, difficult, disorganized, overly sensitive, unmotivated or somehow failing at things that seem to come easily to other people.
Over time, those experiences can become a story about who you are.
We don't believe that difference means defect. And we don't believe nature made a mistake when it made you.
At The Design Your Life Centre, our work is about helping you understand and embrace how your mind and nervous system actually work—so you can stop measuring yourself against a standard that may never have been designed for you.

Understanding Yourself from the Inside Out
Through the Inside-Out Way, we look beyond the diagnosis to the person who has been living with it.
Many neurodivergent people develop survival patterns in response to years of trying to fit into environments that don't naturally work for them. Masking. Perfectionism. People-pleasing. Overworking. Avoidance. Self-criticism. Trying harder and harder to compensate.
The problem is that eventually these patterns can begin to feel like your personality.
Understanding yourself from the inside out means separating who you are from what you learned to do to survive.
It means understanding your strengths, challenges, sensory needs, emotions, attention, energy and nervous system—and learning how to work with them rather than continually fighting against them.
From there, you can begin to build strategies, systems and environments that actually fit you.

Tools Designed for the Way You Work
There is no single strategy that works for every neurodivergent person.
We help you develop practical approaches based on how you function, which may include support with:
-
ADHD and executive functioning
-
Organization, planning and time management
-
Attention, focus and task initiation
-
Emotional and nervous system regulation
-
Sensory needs and overwhelm
-
Stress, anxiety and burnout
-
Self-esteem and self-acceptance
-
Masking and people-pleasing
-
Communication and self-advocacy
-
Boundaries and relationships
-
Work, school and life transitions
-
Building routines and systems that work with your brain
The goal isn't to make you better at pretending to be neurotypical.
It's to understand yourself well enough to know what you need, own those needs without shame, and advocate for yourself with confidence.
Your differences can create challenges. They can also come with perspectives, abilities and ways of seeing the world that are uniquely valuable.
Both can be true.
When One Partner Is Neurodivergent & the Other Isn't
Neurodiversity can also shape intimate relationships.
When one partner is neurodivergent and the other is neurotypical, differences in communication, attention, emotional processing, organization, sensory needs or expectations can easily be misunderstood.
What looks like not caring may be overwhelm. What feels like criticism may be an attempt to create predictability. What seems obvious to one person may not register the same way for the other.
We work with couples to understand these differences without making either partner the problem.
The goal is to develop a shared understanding of how each person experiences the relationship, communicate needs more clearly and create ways of relating that work for both nervous systems.
Embracing the Exceptional
There is freedom in understanding that you were never meant to experience the world exactly as everyone else does.
Our work isn't about helping you overcome who you are.
It's about helping you understand yourself, work with your nervous system, advocate for what you need and recognize the strengths that come with seeing and experiencing the world differently.
You are not a mistake. Your job isn't to become someone else. It's to learn how to build a life that works for you.
